This is a beautiful Messerschmitt KR-200. It had a 191cc Fichtel & Sachs 2-stroke engine, which reached a top speed of 100 km/h. It also had a nice interior, compared to some other microcars.
This is the 2001 Corbin Sparrow. It is an electric microcar. It is powered by a 13 kw engine which can reach speeds up to 70 mph. That is pretty quick. This modern microcar was in one of the Austin Powers movies. That is quite a big reputation for a microcar !
This is the Peel P50, it is known as the smallest production car ever built. It is powered by a 49cc Zweirad-Union 2-stroke engine. It's top speed is 75 km/h. This tiny car had no reverse gear, so you had to lift it up from the back to make it reverse. It wasn't a problem though, it only weighed 130 lbs.
This is an other extremely rare car, it is called the Ardex. The bodywork was made up of plywood covered with vinyl. That goes to show you how basic the car was !
The Grataloup Is Probably the rarest car on the planet. There was one produced and there is one surviving. This microcar has a 247 cc engine which makes it much faster than the Mopetta. By the way most of the pictures on this blog are from the Bruce Weiner Microcar Museum site.
